GRANNY'S CLOSET LADIES HEAD TO McCALL FOR THRIFTING SPREE!

A DAY OUT TO CLEAR THE HEAD AND EMPTY THE POCKETBOOK!

The Garden Valley Senior Center
thrives because of its volunteers and Granny's Closet head honcho Ruth Richter knows how to dangle the carrot. Last year her volunteers were treated to a day in Ketchum and Hailey, with lunch and checking out thrift shops.
This year, October 14 turned out to be a gorgeous autumn day and nothin' could have been better for these treasure hunters than to be traveling up Highway 55 to explore
the variety of thrift shops in the area.

At the McCall Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop, Darlene showed off the shop's behind-the-scenes work area. Never before had Granny's volunteers thought that
luxury was hanger organizers, backstage clothes racks, sinks & dishwashers in the shop kitchen, tables at which to price, sew and fold, all with storage cubicles, an area for each division of children's clothing, silk flowers, coats, books, toys and even a workroom with a male repairing damaged merchandise.

Mountain Treasure Chest boasts several rooms of good browsing and a luxurious coat in the guise of a canine basking in the attention of shoppers.

The Grannies were welcomed graciously by each shop, and discovery of interesting goods abounded.

A grand meal was had by all at the warm Shore Lodge, which overlooks the lake. Here's a tip: Don't miss dessert!
McCall, Donnelly and all shops in the area are a great reason to head there for a breather. What beautiful scenery, restaurants and an opportunity to pick up gifts for your home, family and friends.

Ruth's daughter Cindy helps Granny's when she's in town. She found a stunning coat at WAAF.

If artistry is what you are looking for, pull off of the road and peruse these shops at the Rustic Outlet.

A full day of bargain-hunting ended at the Rustic Outlet on Highway 55 south of McCall. 29 vendors offering new and second-hand high-quality merchandise make it a must visit for holiday shopping.
