Oppose H585 Tonight!

Submitted by Concerned Neighbors and Friends~

A bill has been introduced into the legislature to "help" Boise County pay the lawsuit judgement.  This legislation would allow the commissioners to tax us WITHOUT a vote of the people.  A bond by Boise County would need to be voted in by 2/3 of the residents voting.  This legislation is not necessary, can be used by any taxing district in Idaho, and is without a sunset clause.

The message can be as simple as,   "I oppose H 585!"

The House Revenue & Taxation Committee will be meeting on Friday, March 2, at 9 a.m.  Please send your emails ASAP.

  1. What is the alternative to paying the enormous bill the "then" incompetent commissioners got us in to? At the meeting they admitted to not having the money to pay the next payment. We know the voters in this county will not vote for a levy voluntarily to pay the judgement so what other remedy does the county have? What happens if the county just doesn't pay?
