Joanne Belau Remembered

Family and friends attended the lovely memorial
service of Garden Valley resident Joanne Belau,
on Friday, February 4, at Grace Lutheran
Church in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho.
Joanne was born to her parents, Frederick and Marie (Schobert) Ludtke, on October 12, 1933, in Maywood, Illinois. She began her walk with the Lord on her baptism day, August 21, 1934, in Freeport, Illinois and was confirmed March 30, 1947, in Blue Earth, Minnesota.
On October 25, 1953, Joanne was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart, Roger Belau, in Blue Earth. The Lord blessed this marriage of over 57 years with much love, devotion and happiness.
Many activities were enjoyed by Joanne, including
flower and vegetable gardening, fishing, sewing,
knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, playing games and reading. Most of all, she loved her husband, family and her many dear friends.
Survivors include Joanne's husband, Roger, of Garden Valley, Idaho; their four children: Kurt (Theresa) of Idaho City, Idaho; Kathy of Becker, MN; Karin (Jeff), of Rushford, MN; Keith (JoAnn) of Rush City, MN; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Janet (Donald) of Sun Lake, AZ and Nylene (Alvin) of Burnsville, MN.
"May all those who mourn in this death be comforted by the hope of the resurrection to eternal life. Our Lord Jesus promised, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes will never die.'" John 11: 25-26
Interment services will be at a later date, at the Blue Earth Cemetery in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Local arrangements were with the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
Memorials may be given in Joanna's honor to Grace Lutheran Church, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho or to the American Cancer Society.
