Current Situation: As a result of the good work by firefighters, the fire is now 65 percent contained. The northwest, west, much of the south, and half of the east flanks are now contained. An inversion remained over the fire area for much of the day which provided the firefighters the opportunity to build direct handline on portions of the north flank. Crews will work to improve this line and continue line construction along the northeast perimeter. Firefighters also continue to make progress on the contingency lines between the fire and subdivisions to the north and east. Good progress was also made today on the part of the fire south of Banks Lowman Road. Crews continue to build containment lines on the southeast flank, and mop up the remaining fire perimeter.
~
Weather: A Red Flag Warning is still in effect until
midnight tonight. An inversion remained
over the fire area for much of the day which kept fire activity light. Monsoonal moisture is moving up from the
south, but will remain south of the fire area.
High pressure from the south and low pressure north of the fire will
cause breezy conditions over the next two days.

Public Safety: Boise County has established an evacuation
notification line that residents can call.
A brief recorded message will update the caller on the status of any
evacuations or other notifications. The
number to call is 208-462-0552.

An
information station has been set up at the Terrace Lakes maintenance shop
(across from the golf course). The
station is staffed with personnel providing fire and preparedness information.
