“Garden Valley and Boise County are increasingly becoming preferred getaways for more urban areas of southwestern Idaho. But it’s important to listen to the folks who live here year-round, who understand that the open space and the beauty come at a price, who see opportunity where others might not, and who turn a small town into a community,” Governor Otter said. “These are tough, independent people, but they deserve to be connected to their state government too. I hope this Capital for a Day will help everyone better understand the diverse challenges this area faces, from economic development and local government finances and from education to protecting the resources here in a responsible and reasonable way.”
